What Will You Be Doing?

The Lead Maintenance Training Instructor will help provide oversight, leadership, direction and guidance to Maintenance Training department personnel.  Assist, guide and instruct Maintenance Training Instructors in development of training material to ensure regulatory compliance.  Assist manager of Maintenance Training with day to day operation of department to accomplish company and manger goals and objectives.   Assume signatory authority of Manager of Maintenance Training in his/her absence.

Essential Functions

Manage, monitor and coordinate SMS activities as directed. These duties include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate the development, implementation, maintenance, and integration of the SMS throughout Frontier
  • Identify hazards and safety risk assessments including change management
  • Ensure effectiveness of safety risk controls
  • Promote safety
  • Advise the accountable executive on the performance of the SMS and on any need for improvement
  • Accountable for achieving safety performance relative to job tasks
  • Manage risk acceptable level: green or lower as defined by Frontier’s company risk matrix
  • Train Instructors on the use of the ACT’s suite trainer.
  • Train Instructor on the use on the current LMS system.
  • Train Instructors on the use of FTD and A320 Full motion simulator for Engine Run/ Taxi Training.
  • Provide leadership and technical support to Maintenance Trainers.
  • Provide OJT to maintenance vendors
  • Train required formal (Airbus aircraft specific) Airframe, Powerplant, Avionics, and Systems Courses to technicians/engineers/maintenance station vendors
  • Provide required CFR/Regulatory Compliance for recurrent training which includes:
  • Winter Operations
  • Taxi and Run-up Training
  • Hazardous Material
  • Required Inspection Item (RII)
  • Policies and Procedures
  • Update paper and electronic training files of each mechanic to reflect accomplished training
  • Develop the required course material to meet FAR and company standards
  • Develop training material by writing, editing, and making proposals to management
  • Audit all FMIS training inputs for accuracy and completion.
  • Upload all new business partners and employees into LMS.
  • Upload all new outstation mechanics and Fuel TTT employees into FMIS.
  • Assist the students with any LMS technical issues
  • Vol.D Ensure that department personnel, including themselves, are properly trained, qualified, and current to perform assigned tasks

Qualifications

  • Required: 5 years of aviation line or hangar maintenance experience
  • Required: FAA A&P license
  • Required: 4 years’ experience in classroom instruction and/or adult learning environment.
  • Must demonstrate behavior that portrays the company core values of Safety, Respect, Trust, Collaboration, Value, and Passion while communicating with personnel and acting on behalf of the company

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Current experience with LMS and TRAX data base.
  • Required- knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint: knowledge of how to navigate through each application.

Physical Effort

Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently.
