Job description

Essential Job Functions and Major Tasks:
  • Operate material handling equipment such as a forklift, reach truck, standard and riding pallet jack, and picking lift
  • Put away incoming freight into stock locations
  • Deliver materials to work centers per priorities set in the portal or otherwise
  • Follow your assigned portal and work instruction for delivery priorities
  • Ensure correct counts, data entry into computerized inventory system, and move to correct locations
  • Fill replenishment point of use locations plant wide with bulk storage items
  • Use handheld scanners to ensure transaction accuracy of part number and location
  • Completes material handling requests in all areas of the plant and conduct proper follow up to notify parties when material is going to be delayed and when reorder/replenishment is needed.
Other Job Functions:
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area on a daily basis
  • Assist in small pack or LTL areas as needed
  • Other functions as assigned by supervisor
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
  • Work environment in inside a warehouse where there is frequent noise and moving objects such as forklifts, carts and other personal lift equipment. Worksite can be congested at times near the unloading track. Work is completed independently but as a team.
  • Lift, push, pull up to 35 lbs
  • Personal protective equipment required for this position includes: safety shoes (continuous), safety glasses, and gloves.

Minimum Qualifications and Prerequisites: Education and Experience
  • Shipping/Receiving experience a plus
  • Material Handling experience using scanners or computers a plus
Skills
  • Good basic math and reading skills
  • Some typing or keyboarding skills
  • Inventory transactions in a computer system
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good problem solving/spatial reasoning skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
