Job description

The Kitchen Support Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all stewarding operations within the casino’s culinary outlets, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and operational efficiency. This role plays a critical part in maintaining sanitation compliance, supporting kitchen operations, and leading the stewarding team. The Kitchen Support Supervisor will also support culinary execution through cross-training on the line and assist during high-volume periods or staffing shortages.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Inventory and Receiving Oversight
• Validate and verify all incoming orders to ensure accuracy, quality, and proper storage
• Oversee proper rotation (FIFO), labeling, and organization of all products in storage areas
• Communicate discrepancies or quality concerns with vendors and culinary leadership

Sanitation and Compliance
• Ensure all kitchen cooler temperature logs are completed accurately daily
• Monitor and enforce completion of dish machine logs, ensuring proper chemical levels and sanitation standards
• Maintain compliance with all health department regulations and internal food safety standards

Team Leadership and Accountability
• Supervise and direct stewarding staff to ensure completion of daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks
• Conduct routine walkthroughs of all kitchen areas to ensure cleanliness and organization standards are upheld
• Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to stewarding team members
• Hold team accountable for attendance, performance, and adherence to policies

Operational Support
• Cross-train and maintain proficiency on the kitchen line to support operations during peak business periods or callouts
• Assist culinary team with prep or service as needed to maintain smooth operations
• Act as a bridge between stewarding and culinary teams to ensure seamless communication

Facility Cleanliness and Organization
• Oversee the overall cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including dish rooms, storage areas, walk-ins, and prep spaces
• Implement and maintain deep cleaning schedules
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and chemicals

QUALIFICATIONS (Indicate if Qualification is Required or Preferred):
Opportunities for Internships, Apprenticeships, and Coordinated Work Study programs may be available in lieu of formal education and work experience requirements for this position for enrolled members of the Yavapai-Apache Nation.
1) Required Education: High School Diploma or GED
2) Work Experience:
• 2–4 years of stewarding or kitchen operations experience, preferably in a high-volume or casino environment
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
3) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong understanding of food safety standards and sanitation practices
• Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective leadership and team management abilities
• Excellent communication and follow-up skills
• Hands-on, team-first mentality
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
4) Professional Licenses & Certifications Requirements:
• Must have or be able to obtain food handlers’ certification upon hire
5) Must be 18+ years old and be available for all shifts, including weekends and holidays as deemed necessary.
6) Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and pass a drug test and background check to obtain and maintain a valid AZ TGO Gaming License.
7) Must adhere to all Cliff Castle Casino Hotel policies and procedures.
8) Must be able to communicate and interact with Guests, fellow Team Members, and Management in a professional, positive, and courteous manner.
