Job description

The Kitchen Manager is responsible for the management of the kitchen, mentoring staff, staff schedules, hands on involvement with inventory controls, food/labor cost, and kitchen sanitation. In addition, this position is responsible for the daily preparation of food and all associated functions.

Job Tasks:

- Open/Close kitchen as schedule dictates

- Leadership

- Ordering/receiving

- Store OPS

-      Creating orders

-       Inputting orders

-       Adjusting Pars

- Managing prep productions and levels

- Adjusting Prep pars and list

- HOH staff management and development

- AKM development and training

- Hiring and staffing needs/conduct 2nd interview w/GM

- Responsible for Food/Labor cost management

- Assist in HOH meetings for direction

- Complete HOH inventory

- Responsible for HOH evaluations

- Communicate HOH equipment issues 

- Delegate and follow up on teaching, training, and food prep/plating procedures

- Responsible for mystery shop HOH issues

- Follow up on all cleaning and sanitation issues

- Spinato’s prep and recipe execution

- HOH discipline issues

This is a Full-Time position, hours may vary.

At least 2 years management/supervisor experience required.

Work environment is casual.

There is 12 weeks of on the job training.

Knowledge/Skill/Abilities:

- One to two years of restaurant management experience required

- Possess a current Serv-Safe Certification, or be able to obtain one upon hire/promotion

- Knowledgeable regarding food and room service techniques.

- Knowledge of PNL / labor, sales, food cost

- Familiarity with all kitchen positions in the restaurant and be able and willing to fill those positions when needed.

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

- Ability to listen effectively, to speak and write English clearly.

- Self-motivated, organized, fast and even-tempered.

- Strong attention to detail a must.

- Pleasant personality to effectively deal with guests; questions and service, and to contribute to the overall atmosphere of teamwork with fellow employees.

- Ability to quickly deliver quality product while under pressure.

- Possess excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to identify, address and resolve conflict.
