We are currently seeking a highly organized CMBS Loan Document Assistant to play a key role in supporting sophisticated commercial lending transactions through the accurate preparation and management of mortgage-backed security loan documents.
The ideal candidate is a highly detail-oriented professional with exceptional word processing skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in producing accurate, polished legal documents under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, revise, and proof complex legal documents to specifications using expert word processing and advanced software knowledge.
- Type correspondence, reports, text and other written material from rough drafts, corrected copies, voice recordings, dictation, or previous versions.
- Check completed work for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and format.
- Electronically sort and compile text and numerical data, retrieving, updating, and merging documents as required.
- Compare documents and track document changes.
- Convert PDF documents to Microsoft Word documents.
- Reformat documents, moving information within the documents.
- Transmit work electronically to other locations.
- Work with technical material, preparing statistical reports, planning, and typing statistical tables, and combining and rearranging material from different sources.
- Use devices such as scanners to input documents for revision and editing.
- Maintain closing checklist and other established CMBS department procedures.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years of word processing experience. Knowledge of legal practices at a level normally acquired through formal training or its equivalent.
- Expert level proficiency in Word and advanced level proficiency in Excel.
- Minimum typing speed of 70 WPM.
- Ability to convert documents from PDF to Word and clean up converted documents.
- Ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical, or spelling errors.
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when evaluating legal matters.
- Ability to prioritize work to balance multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients.
