Job Description

Job Summary
The Motion Analysis Center Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and data acquisition within the Shriners Hospitals for Children Motion Analysis Center, supporting clinical care and research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the System MAC engineer, the MAC engineer obtains and maintains CMLA accreditation.

  • Maintains competency in equipment calibration, collection of the raw data, processing of data and report generation.

  • Assist System MAC Engineer and Development Specialist with the development and integration of new clinical programs.

  • Provides orientation and training to new therapists, technicians, students and volunteers to ensure proper use of equipment, accurate data collection and processing with output consistent with lab protocol.

  • Functions as a role model within the healthcare team, promoting a positive, organized and safe work environment based on open communication.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum B.S. in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering, Kinesiology, or related field.

  • Minimum 2 years of motion analysis and/or biomechanics experience

  • Minimum 2 years of programming experience (Python, R)

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S. or higher preferred in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering, Kinesiology, or related field.

  • 2+ years of motion analysis and/or biomechanics experience.

  • 2+ years of programming experience (Python, R).

  • Experience with computer vision, markerless motion capture, or design and testing of ML models a plus.

  • Database management and querying (SQL, GraphQL).

  • Familiarity with Vicon Nexus motion capture ecosystems

The pay range for this position is $28.94 - $43.41. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
