Job Description
1. Platform/Application Operational Support (80%)
o Provide day to day operational ownership of a subset of IT platforms and applications.
o Create and maintain operational system documentation.
o Improve system uptime and stability through proactive monitoring and capacity management solutions.
o Perform required maintenance/updates to maintain a secure environment.
o Seek to identify, investigate, resolve, and document resolution of system problems
o Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
o Repair and recover from software or hardware failures, test procedures regularly.
o Develop and retain relationships with technology vendors, ensuring contracts are current and escalated support procedures are followed as defined.
o Contribute to and maintain system standards
o Provide level two support and train ITSM teams to provide level one support as well as resolve reoccurring issues.
o Will be required to work evening hours approximately once a week to execute late night changes during maintenance windows as well as periodically provide escalated support.
2. Product/Platform Project Support (20%)
o Assist system engineers with system upgrades, migrations, and research/proof of concept projects
o Maintain open and consistent communications with system engineers and project managers.
Skill Set
1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field 2. 3+ years related work experience 3. Knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems and applications 4. Knowledge of Linux and other open source products 5. Knowledge of enterprise class server and storage hardware 6. General hours will be 8:00am - 5:00pm. This schedule will adjust when working required evening hours which could be anywhere between 1 to 2 times per week 7. Strong written and verbal communication skills
