About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Sustainability Analyst to join our sustainability team in Columbia, MD (on-site, Monday-Friday). In this role, you will support the development of carbon intelligence by leading Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and conducting Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) to evaluate and reduce the environmental and embodied carbon impacts of our products. You will play a key role in advancing low embodied carbon strategies across our portfolio while gaining hands-on experience in practical sustainability applications. This position contributes directly to Tate's sustainability goals and our broader Planet Passionate strategy.
What You'll Do
  • Support the development, maintenance, and tracking of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)
  • Conduct and assist with Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) to evaluate product environmental impact
  • Coordinate third-party verification through accreditation programs
  • Monitor EPD validity and ensure timely updates
  • Validate sustainability claims and maintain detailed background documentation
  • Support certifications including:

    • Cradle-to-Cradle
    • VOC testing
    • Health Product Declarations (HPDs)
    • Material Passports

  • Stay current on evolving sustainability standards, regulations, and industry trends
  • Support internal communication and benchmarking of carbon intelligence data and EPD results

  • Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail in environmental reporting
  • Adapt to evolving business needs and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of sustainability processes and data tracking

  • Role could evolve toward stronger technical and analytical capability over time
  • Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
  • Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
  • Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
  • Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Sustainability, Data Science / Analytics, Environmental Science, Business Sustainability, or a related field
  • 2-6 years of experience in sustainability, environmental analysis, or a related field
  • Understanding of sustainability within the built environment, including decarbonization
  • Knowledge of LCA methodologies and EPD requirements, including experience with LCA tools (e.g., One Click LCA)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly
  • Proficiency in data analysis (Python, R, or SQL all a plus), and strong analytical skills with attention to detail to support data manipulation, build carbon models outside LCA software, assess reduction pathways, and create dashboards
  • Passion for sustainability and contributing to meaningful environmental impact
