Job description

RN/LPN uses the nursing process to assist residents in daily care, giving of medications and treatments, working cooperatively with other health care providers in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adheres to the standards of nursing care the the policies and procedures of the Nursing Home.
  • Records and reports all observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes of resident's condition ot the Supervisor nurse and calling the physician to give a report of resident condition when needed.
  • Assists in admission, discharging and transferring residents.
  • Assists the physician with examination, treatments, special tests, and procedures as well as rounding on residents.
  • provides for resident's safety by observing resident care given, assessing resident's needs for equipment, reporting to the Supervisor Nurse resident care needs.
  • Maintains a safe, comfortable, and neat environment for the residents with special consideration of cleanliness of the resident, cleanliness of the room, adequate lighting, and proper ventilation of the room.
  • Be competent in providing the care to the population of residents services; make care personal to that resident.
  • Deliver medications to the residents using the Five Rights of Right person, Right medication, Right does, Right route, Right time, using the MAR in correct manner to pull, give and document medications.
  • Actively participates in mandatory in-services, and staff meetings; may be asked to assist supervisor when giving in-servicesMust
  • Provides adequate documentation of resident care of included, but not limited to, routine and acute charting, incidents, readmissions, medications, treatments, MDS charting and Part A charting.
  • Maintain a high standard of resident, visitors, and the community, promoting the Nursing Home, the staff and administration to and in the community.
  • All of the above is included but not limited to the duties of the Med Nurse.

Must possess a current Mississippi Nursing License.
