Superintendent
JOB SUMMARY:
In conjunction with the general superintendent the superintendent oversees the execution of a project from initial planning to completion. The superintendent reports directly to the general superintendent and is responsible for the daily management of all aspects of an individual job and the personnel and subcontractors working for CJGeo on the job.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Take responsibility for enforcement of all safety measures surrounding jobsite, environmental and personal
  • Manages field crew on a day-to-day basis.
  • Actively gather information that might be needed to assist in the invoicing process.
  • Assist in the procurement and maintenance of all field assets by recognizing areas for improvement or repair and promptly relay information to operations and shop staff.
  • Work with project management and operations to ensure that jobs are properly staffed, equipment/materials needs are met and crews are composed of the right group of team members to ensure success.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Work Experience: 5 years project management or field personnel/operations management required.

ENVIRONMENT OR PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push and/or pull 80-pound loads at a time.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to work up to 16 hours per day and climb stairs carrying materials as well as climb ladders unassisted
  • Must be able to work weekend and nights when needed

90% of work requires extensive driving between CJGeo shop and client job sites, including navigating walking and non-walking surfaces, such as pipeline right-of-ways, tunnel shafts, tunnels, partially-constructed buildings, etc. Requires driving up to ten hours per day, working nights, weekends, and shift hours. Regular overnight auto, rail and/or air travel. Up to 8 weeks of online training and continuing education annually.
10% of work takes place in a general office/shop environment.
OVERTIME CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt.
