Job description

Assistant Strengthand Conditioning Coach - Baseball and Softball
Boston College Athletics is seekinga motivated, knowledgeable, and relationship-driven Assistant Strength andConditioning Coach to support the development, health, and performance of ourstudent-athletes.

This position will serve as theprimary strength and conditioning coach for Baseball and Softball and will bean active member of the Olympic Strength and Conditioning staff. In addition tooverseeing the year-round physical development of Baseball and Softballstudent-athletes, the individual will assist with other Olympic sport programs,weight-room operations, staff initiatives, and departmental responsibilities asassigned. The primary location for this role will be housed out of Pete Frates Center, located in Harrington Athletics Village, which houses a state of the art weight room.

The coach will work closely withstudent-athletes, sport coaches, athletic trainers, sports medicine personnel,and members of the strength and conditioning staff to create a collaborative,positive, and high-performance training environment.

The ideal candidate will bepassionate about developing student-athletes, building strong relationships,and creating training programs that address the physical demands of baseballand softball. This includes strength and power development, speed and acceleration,change of direction, movement quality, energy-system development, injury-riskreduction, and return-to-performance support.

PrimaryResponsibilities
       Design, implement, andevaluate comprehensive year-round strength and conditioning programs forBaseball and Softball.

       Monitorstudent-athlete readiness, development, and progress to ensure safe andeffective training.

       Collaborate with sportcoaches, athletic trainers, sports medicine personnel, and other performancestaff regarding programming, training modifications, rehabilitation, andreturn-to-performance progressions.

       Coach and teach properexercise technique, movement mechanics, sprinting, jumping, andchange-of-direction skills.

       Use performancetesting, athlete monitoring, and objective data to guide programming decisions.

       Foster a positive,disciplined, inclusive, and competitive training environment.

       Serve as an active andcollaborative member of the Olympic Strength and Conditioning staff.

       Assist with theprogramming and coaching of other Olympic sport teams as assigned.

       Support dailyweight-room operations, including scheduling, facility organization, equipmentmaintenance, safety procedures, and student-worker or intern development.

       Contribute to staffeducation, departmental initiatives, recruiting activities, camps, specialevents, and other responsibilities that support Boston College Athletics.

       Maintain compliancewith Boston College, ACC, NCAA, and departmental policies and procedures.

This position requires flexibility,including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, team travel, and othernontraditional work hours based on training, competition, and departmentalschedules.

Salary range for this role is 61,000-76,000.
