This hybrid position will be located at our Corporate Office in NYC. Expectations for hybrid in-office schedule is three days a week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Foot Locker, Inc. is seeking a talented and motivated Assistant Designer to join our design team and contribute to the creative development of our brand. This role will support design of our private label apparel brands (Cozi, LCKR, WSS Athletic) which have a streetwear and/or active lifestyle focus, and will concentrate on the womens and kids categories. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working both remotely and in-office, reporting directly to the Senior Design Manager.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. At this time, Foot Locker will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization, or offer any immigration related support for this position (i.e. H1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, TN, or another type of work authorization).
Responsibilities
  • Assist in executing seasonal designs under the guidance of the Designer, ensuring alignment with the brand's vision.
  • Develop and refine garment concepts with a strong understanding of construction, fabrication, and multi-use design.
  • Create detailed technical flats, CADs, and construction details for design reviews.
  • Build and maintain seasonal Line Sheets, incorporating color palettes and assortment deliveries.
  • Own and organize seasonal samples, color, fabric, trim and print approvals with Production Development under the guidance of the Designer.
  • Assist in the conceptualization and development of monthly product segments.
  • Attend fittings and collaborate with the team to refine garment fit and functionality.
  • Develop Tech Packs, BOMs, and construction detail pages, ensuring clear communication of silhouettes and garment specifications.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong organizational, communication and time-management skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design
  • Minimum 1 years of experience in a design-related role (a combination of education and experience may be considered)
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in Adobe Illustrator for CAD development and print creation
  • Strong knowledge of pattern making, garment construction, and fabrication
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop and/or Canva helpful
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT)
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team player
  • Interest and knowledge in streetwear and/or activewear preferred but not required

The annual base salary range is $55000 - $60000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
