Join Our Laboratory Team!
Shift: Monday and Tuesday for 6h each (12h per week).
We are seeking a detail-oriented Specimen Processor to join our fast-paced laboratory team. This entry-level role is responsible for preparing biological specimens for laboratory testing by receiving, sorting, scanning, and aliquoting specimens while maintaining accuracy and following established laboratory procedures.
No previous laboratory experience is required! If you have strong attention to detail, basic computer skills, and enjoy working in a structured environment, we encourage you to apply.
Job Responsibilities
- Receive, sort, and organize incoming biological specimens for laboratory testing.
- Scan specimen containers and verify information within the laboratory database.
- Prepare urine specimen aliquots for immunoassay screening and laboratory analysis.
- Verify specimen labeling and determine appropriate routing for testing or storage.
- Maintain specimen integrity throughout the accessioning and aliquoting process.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and laboratory policies at all times.
- Accurately document specimen information using laboratory computer systems.
- Utilize barcode scanners and computer applications to process specimens efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory work environment.
- Work collaboratively with laboratory staff to ensure daily production goals and turnaround times are met.
- Handle biological specimens safely while following all laboratory safety procedures.
- Perform additional laboratory support duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- No previous laboratory experience required — training is provided.
- Ability to work safely with biological specimens.
- Basic computer and data entry skills.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, production laboratory environment.
