Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
The Medical Laboratory Assistant is responsible for a variety of specimen collections on children, both inpatients & outpatients, specimen processing, referral test analysis, preparation & shipping, registration & lab test order entry, hospital/departmental computer procedures, microbiology specimen processing & departmental instrument maintenance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma, GED or foreign equivalent
Phlebotomy Certificate
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
2 years of experience
Prior pediatric experience in phlebotomy, specimen accessioning and processing, patient registration and lab test order entry in a clinical laboratory under a qualified Director
Current BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by American Heart Association
The current salary range for this position is $24.71 to $34.38
A candidate's placement in the range will be determined based on the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
