Job description

Description
The Department of Anthropology at Yale University seeks to hire a full-time tenured associate or full professor in the sociocultural anthropology of South Asia beginning as early as January 1, 2028. The topic of specialization is open. The selected scholar will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in sociocultural anthropology and South Asian studies; these courses may include theoretical, topical, methodological, and/or other offerings, as appropriate to specialization. The teaching expectation is normally four courses per academic year, plus service to the department and university. Mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students is also expected.
Qualifications
The appointee must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
