Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your day-to-day responsibilities will involve:

  • Assisting in the implementation of individualized treatment plans designed by licensed Physical Therapists, focusing on enhancing patients' mobility, strength, and functional abilities.
  • Guiding patients through prescribed therapeutic exercises, stretches, and rehabilitation activities, taking care to monitor their progress and adjust routines as needed to maximize effectiveness.
  • Educating patients and their families about proper body mechanics and home exercise programs to ensure continuity of care beyond the clinic.
  • Administering therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, always under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Documenting patient responses and progress through Microsoft EMR systems, meticulously tracking improvements in range of motion, strength, and overall functionality.
  • Preparing treatment areas and ensuring that necessary equipment and supplies are organized, sanitized, and readily available for therapy sessions.
  • Collaborating closely with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care and enhance rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Providing encouragement and emotional support, fostering a motivating atmosphere for patients embarking on difficult recovery journeys.
  • Upholding professional and ethical standards, ensuring the confidentiality and dignity of patients throughout their treatment.

The patients you will assist span various demographics and needs, including those recovering from orthopedic surgeries, neurological disorders, sports injuries, and age-related conditions. Qualifications

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must possess:

  • An Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
