Job description

Our clients include school districts; universities; city, county, and state governments; private enterprises; and healthcare facilities.

We are looking for a Construction Site Superintendent to join our team! The Construction Site Superintendent works in direct support of the Senior Superintendent, and Construction Manager, to ensure quality control standards are met and overall project success, including the coordination and supervision of all construction activities. This role will be based in Southern California.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist Construction Manager in preparation of detailed three-week schedule based on overall construction schedule.
  • Update construction schedule monthly and three-week schedule weekly and ensure that schedule is implemented, closely monitored, updated as necessary, and meets the contract completion date.
  • Act as liaison between subcontractors, construction manager & engineers to ensure work complies with project requirements. Establish quality control procedures to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Responsible for success of all project field operations.
  • Manage and coordinate external resources and subcontractors.
  • Assist Construction Manager with contract administration and interaction with the owner.
  • Ensure safety compliance of subcontractors and all on-site personnel.
  • Ensure client concerns are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Identify potential issues and solve problems.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Thorough understanding of the commercial construction management and commissioning process.
  • 5 years in a superintendent position, with professional experience that includes a wide range of experience in field operations and construction means, and methods.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the general scope of the construction industry including the ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, building codes, and other project documents.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building automation control systems in commercial and institutional facilities.
  • Capable of leading confidently in identifying, correcting and/or avoiding potential schedule, budget or quality issues. The ability to make decisions, while balancing cost implications, to avoid disruptions in the work or customer's operations.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish project's goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Project scheduling software.
  • OSHA 30 certification (or must be obtained within 6 months of assuming position).
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks to ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders while delivering excellent customer service in a highly dynamic growth environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, evolving, entrepreneurial work environment.
  • Ability to travel to construction project locations within California is a required component of this role and will be necessary to meet job responsibilities.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
