Job description

The Simulation Center Student Supervisor is responsible for providing support to the students during deliberate practice within the Simulation Center. The Simulation Center Student Supervisor will work directly with the Undergraduate Simulation Center Coordinator to assist students, faculty, and staff with various tasks within the Simulation Center.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Work directly with the Undergraduate Simulation Center Coordinator to support simulation learning environment for the undergraduate residential and cohort students, faculty and staff participating in simulation or nursing laboratory curriculum and activities.

2. Assist the Undergraduate Simulation Center Coordinator with daily operations, maintenance, and set up/clean up of equipment/simulation scenarios for the undergraduate and cohort nursing simulation labs.

3. Assist the Undergraduate Simulation Center Coordinator to maintain a clean, functioning area within the Simulation Center for students and faculty.

4. Assist the Undergraduate Simulation Center Coordinator with inventory and lab documentation.

5. Cultivate and sustain an environment to promote deliberate practice within the simulation center.

6. Responsible for maintaining assigned "champion area" within the Simulation Center.

7. Remains abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services and leading industry performance benchmarks.

8. Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's mission.

Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies

Minimum Qualifications:

The student must be a current residential second semester sophomore, junior or senior in the Liberty University School of Nursing. The student must be work study qualified. Candidates must have the ability to work 15 hours per week. Candidates must have well-developed communication skills. Candidates will be professional with excellent personal communication skills and good computer skills. Candidates must be critical thinkers, technologically savvy, and highly motivated team players.

Preferred Qualifications:

Successful candidates will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, customer service skills, demonstrate computer proficiency, be team focused, and possess the abilities to both follow instructions and lead others, a Christ-like attitude, and the ability to function responsibly with minimum direct supervision.
