Safety & Security Coordinator (Overnight)

Willow Valley Communities
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 12:00 AM - 8:30 AM, with some weekends and holidays required (flexibility a must, as coverage on other shifts is a possibility)

What You'll Do

As the overnight Safety & Security Coordinator, you will serve as the operational leader for your shift, partnering closely with the Safety & Security Manager to oversee safety and security activities across campus. You will provide leadership to Team Members, respond to emergencies, and help maintain a safe environment for everyone who lives, works, and visits Willow Valley Communities.


Safety & Compliance
  • Conduct safety inspections and submit fire and safety inspection reports.
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with Willow Valley Communities safety standards.
  • Investigate safety incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Promote a culture of safety and accountability across campus.
Security Operations
  • Perform mobile and foot patrols throughout the community.
  • Monitor campus access, traffic flow, and parking operations.
  • Identify and report safety concerns, security risks, and maintenance issues.
  • Respond to Resident, visitor, contractor, and Team Member concerns with professionalism and urgency.
Emergency Response
  • Respond to emergency situations and coordinate appropriate actions.
  • Serve as the lead responder during emergencies or unusual events when leadership is unavailable.
  • Act as a liaison with local emergency services and authorities as needed.
  • Assist with special community operations, including weather-related emergencies and Resident transportation support.

Leadership & Team Oversight
  • Function as the Person-In-Charge for the overnight shift.
  • Supervise Safety & Security Team Members under the direction of the Safety & Security Manager.
  • Assist with scheduling, work assignments, time-off approvals, and shift coverage.
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new Team Members.
  • Assist with performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective action processes.
  • Ensure all required annual training is completed.
Administrative & Operational Support
  • Maintain incident reports, daily logs, work orders, lighting surveys, and other security documentation.
  • Process invoices and manage department equipment and supply inventories.
  • Support departmental goals, budgets, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and HIPAA requirements.

What We're Looking ForEducation & Experience
  • Associate degree or two-year certificate in a related field OR
  • Five (5) years of related safety, security, law enforcement, military, emergency response, or supervisory experience OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid PA Driver's License.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Commitment to safety, customer service, and teamwork.

Schedule Requirements
  • Monday-Friday, 12:00 AM - 8:30 AM.
  • Flexibility is a must; coverage on other shifts is a possibility
  • Some weekends and holidays are required.
