Security Leads are responsible for overseeing break rotations, patrolling, and documentation. They also oversee a team of security guards and/or any other related and assigned departments (e.g. parking lot attendants) and provide consistent check-ins and incentives.

Supervisory Duties:
• Assist with the daily supervision of the Security team and any other assigned departments
• Lead by example, attitude, and as a representation of Dutch Wonderland's core values
• Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned team members
• Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all security positions and backfill these positions when needed
• Participate in new-hire orientation and training activities for all assigned employees
• Ensure that all required meal and other breaks are being given in accordance with PA State law
• Assist with team scheduling and timekeeping activities
Departmental Duties:
• Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property
• Inspect buildings, equipment, and access points
• Perform access control and personal property inspections at park entrance and exits, when needed
• Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities
• Patrol Park grounds and parking lots
• Assist the attendants with traffic duties as needed
• Enforce the parking lot rules and regulations
• Be vigilant and proactively identify potential security risks and threats.
• Assist with timekeeping for other hourly security team members
• Respond to routine and emergency calls throughout the park property.
• Enforce the Park rules and regulations
• All other duties assigned by leadership
Education and Experience:
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; Equivalent work experience will also be considered
• College degree in Criminal Justice or related discipline desired; Equivalent work experience will be considered
• 2+ year of previous security, criminal justice, or related experience highly desired
Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.
Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with [State] Child Labor Laws
• Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to work third shift (overnight) if the park security operates on a 24-hour schedule
• Must have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shift
• Must possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record
• Ability to safely and efficiently operate motorized vehicles and equipment
• Ability to comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions
• Ability to apply knowledge of security methods, procedures, interviewing, listening, and note-taking techniques for specific situations
• Ability to deal fairly, objectively, and courteously with the public without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, or political beliefs
• Ability to analyze people and/or situations quickly and calmly and take appropriate actions in a quick and effective manner
• Ability to operate a variety of electronic equipment, such as cameras, radios, personal computers, or other communication devices
• Ability to professionally and calmly deal with stressful and/or tense situations
• Ability to collaborate with other team members, external first responders, and emergency personnel during emergency situations
• Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
• Ability to maintain certifications as required by assignment
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workday
• Ability to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders
• Ability to walk, stand, or run on uphill, downhill, or uneven surfaces.
• Ability to remain sedentary for extended periods of time, while using a computer/camera equipment
• Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 30 pounds or more
• Must have good visual acuity, night vision, and peripheral vision.
• Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away
Working Conditions:
• This role will be based in both an office setting as well as frequent exposure to all other indoor and outdoor park environments
• Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions
• Subject to dark environments, particularly during midnight shift
• Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, and heavily populated environments
• Subject to frequent interruptions and requests that may require reprioritization of activities
