Job description

Overview Security Lead responsible for overseeing break rotations, patrolling, documentation. They also lead a team of security guards and related departments such as parking lot attendants. Responsibilities Assist with daily supervision of the Security team and other assigned departments Lead by example, represent Dutch Wonderland's core values Act as a mentor and coach to all assigned team members Become knowledgeable of performing essential duties of all security positions and backfill as needed Participate in newโ€hire orientation and training activities Ensure compliance with PA State law regarding breaks Assist with team scheduling and timekeeping Secure premises by patrolling property Inspect buildings, equipment, access points Perform access control and personal property inspections at park entrance and exits, as needed Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities Patrol park grounds and parking lots Assist attendants with traffic duties as needed Enforce parking lot rules and regulations Identify potential security risks and threats proactively Assist with timekeeping for other hourly security team members Respond to routine and emergency calls throughout the park Enforce park rules and regulations Perform other duties assigned by leadership Qualifications High School diploma, GED, or equivalent College degree in Criminal Justice or related discipline desired; equivalent experience considered 2+ years of security, criminal justice, or related experience highly desired Must be at least 18 years of age Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays Must be able to work third shift (overnight) if required Reliable transportation; valid driver's license; good driving record Must be able to operate motorized vehicles and equipment Strong verbal and written communication in English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills a plus Ability to follow instructions; analyze situations quickly and calmly Ability to operate electronic equipment (cameras, radios, etc.) Ability to handle stressful situations professionally Strong customer service skills; resolve queries professionally Ability to collaborate with team members and emergency responders Maintain required certifications Physical Requirements Stand, walk, remain on feet majority of day Occasional stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach overhead Walk, stand, or run on uneven surfaces Remain sedentary work with computer/camera equipment Carry, push, pull, lift up to 30 pounds or more Good visual acuity, night vision, peripheral vision Ability to see details of objects a few feet away Working Conditions Office setting and frequent exposure to all indoor and outdoor park environments Variable outside temperatures, hot/cold, direct sun, humidity, rain, snow, ice Dark environments especially during midnight shift Repetitive motion, high noise, flashing lights, crowded environments Frequent interruptions requiring reprioritization of activities Benefits Flexible schedule Crossโ€train in various departments Free admission to Dutch Wonderland and all Palace Entertainment parks on days off Invitations to companyโ€sponsored employee events during season Equal Opportunity As an equalโ€opportunity employer, we strive to provide environments where every host, guest, and partner is welcomed, valued, and loved.
