The Truss Sawyer is responsible for operating saw equipment to accurately cut lumber and building materials used in truss and component manufacturing. This role supports production operations by ensuring materials are cut to specification, staged efficiently, and prepared for assembly. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What you will do:Saw Operation & Material Processing
  • Operate saws and related production equipment to cut materials according to work orders, cut lists, and specifications
  • Position saw controls and equipment to achieve accurate dimensions and angles
  • Review work orders and production schedules to ensure materials are processed correctly
  • Verify measurements and inspect cut materials for quality and accuracy
Production Support
  • Retrieve and prepare materials for production based on work orders and batch requirements
  • Stack, band, label, and stage materials for downstream production processes
  • Assist with movement of materials using forklifts, industrial trucks, hoists, or other approved equipment
  • Support material replenishment and inventory organization as needed
Quality Control
  • Inspect raw materials and finished cut products to ensure compliance with company standards
  • Identify defects, discrepancies, or quality concerns and report them promptly
  • Perform ongoing quality checks throughout production activities
Equipment Maintenance & Safety
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and PPE standards
  • Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or operational issues immediately
Team Collaboration
