Fire Alarm Sales Engineer
Department: Service
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for estimating, designing, managing, and ensuring all fire alarm projects are performed to the highest possible standard, executed efficiently, effectively, and code compliant.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide survey support for sales team to ensure complete and accurate estimates
  • Assist sales team with budgeting and writing of proposals for inspection repair and service projects
  • Design, submit, and manage all Fire Alarm related projects sold by sales team
  • Ensure systems are designed with consideration to labor and material efficiencies
  • Provides labor forecast to coordinator and Director for all projects being managed
  • Responsible for acquiring new and managing existing client relationships
  • Schedule bid reviews timely while being prepared and organized for bid review; timely submittal of proposal/bid docs to admin; solicits appropriate number of bids for subcontractors/special pricing, review/understand all documents, addendums and bid clarifications, and bid forms, meet bid deadline.
  • Proposal is clear and concise with no grammatical errors or contradictions and matches specification (if applicable).
  • Estimate is complete and accurate per specification (if applicable)
  • Drawings are complete and include all necessary information for AHJ and Field Technician
  • Systems are designed to meet code and in consideration of labor and material efficiencies
  • Proactive in scheduling and coordinating with all trades on jobsite
  • Manages project to meet budgets and deadlines
  • Executes all necessary project documentation

Important Skills:
  • Ability to lead a team, highly organized, self-motivated, strong attention to detail, with good communication skills.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Extensive knowledge in NFPA 72 and 70E standards required.
  • Candidates must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. The ability to drive to job sites / work locations is a requirement of this position. A motor vehicle record (MVR) check will be conducted as part of the hiring process.
