Job description

Kilgore Industries, one of the largest Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing subcontractors in the state of Texas, and a 2022 Houston Chronicle Top Workplace is growing. The key to this growth is having the best team in the industry! We are looking for an experienced Safety Coordinator who is looking to grow with the industry leader. The Safety Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing Kilgore's employee safety at work as well as facilitating compliance with occupational health and safety (OSH) requirements.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Implement established, Kilgore EHS policies and programs.
  • Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics.
  • Review existing policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all the rules and regulations.
  • Coordinate with the Human Resources and Safety Department to facilitate new hire safety onboarding.
  • Conduct risk assessments.
  • Assist the Safety Director with report preparation related to accidents and violations to determine causes and develop solutions to prevent future incidents.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • 1-2 years working as a Safety Coordinator or similar role.
  • Working knowledge of Federal OSHA regulations.
  • Working knowledge of potentially hazardous materials.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in producing reports such as Safety Audits, Job Hazard Analysis, Accident reports, Incident reports, Near Miss reports, among others.
  • OSHA 510 is a plus
  • Outreach Trainer (OSHA 500) a plus
  • First Aid/CPR (Trainer) or hold a certificate
  • Demonstrated ability to write policies and procedures for health and safety.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is a plus
  • Demonstrated outstanding organizational skills and time-management skills
  • Must exhibit critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • The successful candidate will operate as a team player with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Bilingual is a plus
