Job description

Purpose

The extraction associate is responsible for all aspects of plant extraction and various processes associated with cannabis product development. The extraction associate provides the daily care and focused attention necessary to process and package clean, high quality medicine.

The main responsibilities include all aspects of the daily care of medicine from harvest to packaging; monitoring weights and measurements; presentation; and maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and sterility inside the processing area.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assist in prepping, processing, and packaging finished medicine
  • Keep accurate records on each plant using Company system and protocols
  • Record and track accurate weights and measurements of medicine throughout the processing and packaging procedures using company systems and protocols
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment inside the processing area
  • Inspect medicine for defects using a variety of magnification tools
  • Calibrate, operate, clean and store packaging equipment
  • Provide consistent oversight of extraction procedures, ensuring standardized requirements and accuracy
  • Master various techniques for marijuana extraction and infusion
  • Knowledge of butane and ethanol extraction methods as well as the purification, separation, and isolation of various compounds of cannabis
  • Knowledge of distillation techniques
  • Knowledge of solventless extraction methods
  • Maintain quality control measures to ensure a high-quality product
  • Ensure compliance with State regulations and testing requirements
  • Ensure accurate weighing and inventory
  • Conduct cannabis plant extraction, including but not limited to the safe operation of open/closed loop systems, CO2 extraction, freeze drying, vacuum ovens, high pressure gas systems, and rotary evaporation.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of cannabis medical products (distillate, oils, tinctures, topicals, concentrates, edibles etc.)
