Job description

Senior Division Order Analyst

Houston, TX | $115,000–$140,000 (depending on experience) + Outstanding Benefits + Bonus



A growing and well-established energy company is seeking an experienced Senior Division Order Analyst to join its Houston-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Division Order professional who enjoys complex ownership analysis, title interpretation, and serving as a subject matter expert within a collaborative and growth-oriented organization


Reporting directly to the Division Order Manager, this role will take the lead on sophisticated ownership matters, support key business initiatives, mentor junior team members, and collaborate across Land, Legal, Revenue Accounting, and other departments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and maintain ownership decks and division orders for both operated and non-operated properties
  • Interpret title opinions, deeds, probate documents, assignments, and other ownership-related legal instruments
  • Calculate and verify Working Interest (WI), Net Revenue Interest (NRI), Royalty Interest (RI), and Overriding Royalty Interest
  • Analyze ownership changes related to drilling activity, acquisitions, divestitures, and title curative efforts
  • Research and resolve complex ownership and revenue suspense issues
  • Coordinate title curative requirements with internal departments and external stakeholders
  • Manage escalated owner inquiries and ownership disputes
  • Provide training, mentorship, and support to Division Order team members
  • Assist with process improvements, internal controls, and compliance initiatives
  • Support acquisition, divestiture, and integration projects


Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Division Order experience within the oil and gas industry
  • Advanced title interpretation and ownership analysis expertise
  • Strong understanding of both operated and non-operated ownership administration
  • Experience resolving complex title and suspense issues
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • NADOA, COPAS, or other industry certifications are a plus
