Hourly Rate: $20-$26

Position Overview

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA/NAC) provides day-to-day personal care and supportive services to patients of Cascadia HomeHealth and Staffing LLC in their homes. Our culture is grounded in compassion, high clinical standards, data-informed care, and a commitment to helping seniors and individuals with disabilities remain independent for as long as safely possible. CNAs work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and contribute directly to achieving patient-centered clinical outcomes.

Credentialing & Regulatory Requirements

For home health services, the minimum healthcare credential is Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA/NAC) or a higher-level healthcare credential as required to meet patient needs. Cascadia recognizes the following Washington State classifications:
โ€ข Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC) โ€“ credentialed under RCW 18.88A
โ€ข Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR) โ€“ registered under RCW 18.88A
Personnel holding NAR status must obtain NAC certification within twelve (12) months of their individual date of hire or may no longer provide patient care, unless exempt under applicable law. Home Health Aides participating in nurse delegation must complete required DSHS nurse delegation training prior to delegated tasks, unless the task is deemed a simple care task under Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission guidance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, mobility, transfers, bed positioning, continence care, catheter and ostomy care, and personal hygiene

  • Apply universal precautions and infection control practices consistently

  • Assist with medication assistance as permitted by scope of practice and care plan

  • Provide skin care, foot care within scope (filing only; no clipping), and protective supervision as required

  • Assist with instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), including meal planning and preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, shopping, errands, and transportation

  • Support social interaction and behavioral activities as outlined in the plan of care

  • Measure and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure, as directed

  • Safely use equipment and supplies and assist with range-of-motion exercises as instructed

  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided in accordance with agency and DOH requirements

  • Observe, document, and promptly report changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse

  • Maintain written logs and receipts for patient funds used for care-related purchases

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support patient care and agency operations

Qualifications & Knowledge Requirements
  • Current Washington State CNA (NAC) or Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR) credential

  • Ability to obtain NAC certification within required timelines if hired as NAR

  • Ability to pass a Washington State Patrol criminal background check

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and patient-centered under stress

  • Valid driverโ€™s license and reliable transportation or access to public transportation

  • Current automobile insurance and clean driving record if driving is required

  • Current food worker card or equivalent training if involved in food preparation

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions

  • CPR certification or ability to obtain prior to assignment
