Job description

Employment Type:Full timeShift:Day ShiftDescription:

The RNFA collaborates with the surgeon and the interdisciplinary health care team to ensure safe surgical procedures and optimal patient outcomes.

What you will need:

  • BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Successful completion of an RNFA Program
  • Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Michigan
  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
  • BLS Certification American Heart Association
  • Minimum of three years of perioperative nursing experience.
  • Proficiency in scrubbing and circulating

What you will do:

  • Assists with positioning, prepping and draping the patient
  • Provide hemostasis under surgeon supervision, including clamping, coagulating, and ligating vessels
  • Performs wound closures as directed, including suturing drains, fascia, subcutaneous tissue, and skin
  • Handles tissue as directed by a surgeon.
  • Applies surgical dressing, application of casts, splints, or immobilizing devices
  • Assists in surgical case preparation (equipment, supplies, and instruments).
  • Participates in volume replacement or auto transfusion, when appropriate.
  • Selects and applies appropriate wound dressing.
  • Provides assistance in securing drainage systems to tissue.
  • Anticipate the surgeon's needs to expedite the operative procedure.
