Job description

Synectic Solutions is seeking a Risk Manager to provide technical and engineering support to the Common Aviation Support Equipment Program Office (PMA-260) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. This candidate will provide overall risk management support, to a diverse commodity product portfolio. PMA-260 is responsible for the procurement, development and fielding of Common Ground Support equipment and Automatic Test Equipment. The team delivers this equipment to enhance the maintenance capability of Sailors and Marines tasked to operate, repair and service naval aircraft and airborne weapons systems Fleet wide.
This is a full-time hybrid position with local telework as the standard arrangement, with on-site requirements 2 to 3 times per week as required. Travel (~15%) is required for this position.
Salary Range: $115k -$130k
Responsibilities
  • The candidate shall support the Risk Management process as delineated in the DoD Risk Management Guide for Defense Acquisition Programs using systems traditional NAVAIR systems/tools adapted to the programmatic needs.
  • Develop the risk management strategy for documenting the risk management process within the organization.
  • Develop and maintain a risk management repository with traditional NAVAIR tools and actively track risks throughout the program.
  • Submit risk reports to support program leadership decision points and program level meetings/briefings.
  • Develop, implement, and document the application of risk metrics and prepare accurate, thorough, and complete risk reports.
  • Represent the Risk Management Program at leadership meetings, conduct workshops, and hold one-on-one meetings to actively assist in risk tracking and mitigation.
  • Implement a risk assessment board, risk tool training and proficiency, practices and policies to manage risk to the greatest extent practical.
  • Support program management with communication to stakeholders, via presentations, briefings, the customer's process for managing the program's risks, issues, and opportunities.
  • Serve as advisor at IPT and program Risk Management Board (RMB) meetings.
  • Maintains the Program Risk Plan and ISEE Risk Issue, and Opportunity (RIO) register.
  • Provides risk management training.
  • Facilitate Working Groups with IPT/Teams to capture new risk, issues and opportunities, and update Mitigation, Corrective Action, and/or Opportunity Management Plans.
  • Completes an initial screening of risks, issues and opportunities.
  • Prepares risk briefings, reports, and documents required for program reviews.

Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizen with an active Secret Clearance.
  • Candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in a Business related field from an accredited. college or university. Experience cannot be substituted for education.
  • Candidate must have at least five (5) years of Risk Management experience in a DoD Program Office.
  • Candidate must have experience working on Agile and Traditional programs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Candidate should be proficient in utilizing the NAVAIR ISEE RIO tool.
  • Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe products.
  • Candidate should have demonstrated good oral and written communication skills.
  • Candidate should have experience working in a dynamic, schedule constrained, and product diverse environment.
