Job description

Fire Protection Project Manager

The Fire Protection Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing fire protection projects from initiation to completion. This role includes coordinating field technicians, liaising with clients, ensuring code compliance, and delivering projects on schedule and within budget. The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of fire protection systems, proven project management experience, and excellent communication skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects, including new installations and retrofits to existing buildings
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, technicians, subcontractors, and internal departments.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets, track progress and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA codes, AHJ regulations, and company safety standards.
  • Coordinate material procurement, subcontractor scheduling, and field service dispatch.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and recommend solutions for system deficiencies.
  • Support sales by identifying opportunities and providing recommendations.
  • Ensure timely billing and assist with resolving invoicing discrepancies.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Participate in business development through sales calls, networking, and market awareness.
  • Conduct site surveys to determine customer needs and provide technical education.
  • Provide training on new systems as they are introduced.
  • Attend annual continuing education classes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the fire protection industry, with emphasis on sprinkler systems.
  • Proven project management experience, ideally in a service-focused environment.
  • NICET Level II or higher in Water-Based Systems (preferred).
  • Project Management certifications (PMP, PgMP, CAPM) are highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with project management and scheduling software
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

  • Adherence to company Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Safety Policy.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours to meet deadlines or respond to emergencies.

Physical Requirements

  • Office and field-based environment with occasional job site visits.
  • Ability to travel as needed for client meetings, site surveys, and project oversight.
