Reporting Structure and Functional Alignment 

Organizational Retail Reporting Line: Assistant Managers > General Manager > Field Operations Managers > Regional Director of Retail > Vice President of Growth 

Position Summary 

The Retail Host supports daily retail operations by assisting customers, processing sales transactions, and supporting inventory, security, and compliance activities in accordance with company policies and Nevada cannabis regulations. This customer-facing role provides accurate product information, maintains customer service standards, and contributes to efficient, compliant, and secure retail operations under the direction of on-site and corporate retail leadership. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Assist retail customers by providing accurate product information to support informed purchasing decisions. 
  • Verify customer eligibility and identification in accordance with Nevada cannabis laws prior to completing sales transactions. 
  • Maintain working knowledge of cannabis products and applicable compliance requirements. 
  • Accurately operate and maintain the point-of-sale (POS) system. 
  • Ensure accuracy of transaction and inventory data entered into required systems. 
  • Follow proper cash handling procedures, including the correct application of discounts and coupons. 
  • Answer incoming phone calls and greet customers in a professional and courteous manner. 
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and product sales records. 
  • Assist with cannabis product inventory intake in accordance with quality assurance and inventory intake protocols. 
  • Follow established procedures to prevent loss, theft, and diversion of cannabis products and cash. 
  • Accurately prepare, package, and deliver curbside pickup orders to customers in designated areas. 
  • Verify customer identity for curbside pickup transactions prior to the exchange of currency and product. 
  • Ensure correct payment has been received before releasing purchased products to customers. 
  • Complete curbside pickup transactions upon returning to the retail facility. 
  • Maintain patient and customer confidentiality in accordance with applicable privacy and security requirements. 
  • Comprehend and apply all security and safety compliance procedures and protocols. 
  • Promptly report security, safety, or compliance incidents in accordance with company procedures. 
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and general upkeep of the sales floor and inventory areas. 
  • Maintain open, professional communication with management and coworkers. 
  • Report employee issues or customer concerns to supervisory staff. 
  • Support store leadership and retail operations management with daily activities, maintenance needs, and resolution of reported issues or customer complaints. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 
  • All customer interaction, sales, inventory, security, and compliance activities are performed in accordance with company procedures and regulatory expectations. 

Work Environment and Physical Requirements 

  • This position requires working in environments where cannabis products are present, which may include exposure to marijuana odor and plant-related airborne dust particles. 
  • This is a customer- and patient-facing position and requires the ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively in order to interact with customers, verify identification, operate point-of-sale systems, and perform essential job duties. 
  • All essential job functions and requirements described in this job description must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation, in accordance with applicable law. 
  • Physical activities may include grasping, walking, standing, sitting, bending, twisting, lifting, climbing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 40 pounds (up to 100 pounds with assistance). 

Schedule and Work Hours 

This position may require working evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts based on business needs and retail operations.
