Job description

Sun Valley Resort is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to support the daily operations of our restaurant and ensure a memorable dining experience for every guest. This hands-on leadership role helps oversee service standards, team performance, and overall guest satisfaction.

Duties & Responsibilities:  

  • Support and supervise restaurant staff, ensuring adherence to Sun Valley Resort service standards

  • Create and manage employee schedules based on hotel occupancy and dining reservations

  • Assist in training new and existing team members in hospitality best practices and technical skills

  • Collaborate with kitchen leadership on menu updates, service pacing, and guest feedback

  • Provide outstanding front-of-house service, stepping in as needed to support servers and hosts

  • Maintain working knowledge of wine service and food pairings; assist guests with recommendations

  • Communicate clearly with team members and chefs regarding service timing, special requests, and guest needs

  • Ensure proper ordering and stocking of linens, supplies, and small wares

  • Handle guest concerns with professionalism and resolve any issues to maintain satisfaction and loyalty

 Qualifications:   

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on restaurant service experience

  • At least 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience in Food & Beverage

  • Strong knowledge of wine service and food pairings

  • Understanding of restaurant financials, including daily sales reporting and labor cost management

  • Excellent communication, customer service, and conflict resolution skills

  • Comfortable working in a high-energy environment with varying noise levels

  • Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching
  • Can safely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds occasionally
