JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Department of Geography in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences is seeking a part-time undergraduate student Cartographer to work on custom mapping projects in the GeoGraphics Laboratory.
The successful candidate will:
* Assist with custom cartographic design projects for internal university and external community clients
* Identify and prepare spatial data for cartographic projects
* Meet with cartography clients to define project scope and to iteratively design cartographic products
* Supervise and guide cartography project work in progress by undergraduate lab assistants.
* Other administrative tasks as assigned/needed to support cartographic design and research in the GeoGraphics Lab.
Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software (e.g. ArcGIS Pro) and Graphic Design software (e.g. Adobe Illustrator) is desired. The successful applicant must be a current undergraduate student enrolled at Penn State.
