Job description

One Medical Assistant each for a medical practice with offices based in Kyle and New Braunfels, Texas. ( Total 2 positions)

Front desk receptionist, greets patients, verifies insurance information.

Answers phone calls to the clinic and either addresses the calls questions or takes message to route to the appropriate staff.

Prepare flow sheets for each clinic day.

Review and update the daily schedule for any copay & balances due by verifying in office software (will receive training) and that information is properly documented.

Prepares patient information forms and maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information. Makes sure that insurance cards and patient IDs are uploaded to patient charts and that information is properly documented.

Review daily clinic schedules and verify insurance benefits with individual plans by phone or online via insurance physician portals.

Update medical history as needed when the back office medical assistant requires help.

Optimizes patient satisfaction, provide time and consultation room utilization by scheduling in person or telephone appointments.

Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying the provider of the patient's arrival and updating providers of any delays.

Answer patient questions and maintain the reception area.

Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient referrals

Record and update financial information, patient charges, controlling credit extended to patients and informing patients of any balances owed.

Maintains front office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level anticipating needed supplies, contacting the clinic manager to order supplies, and verifying that supplies have been received.

Protects patient rights by maintaining medical, personal, and financial confidentiality.

Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.

Acts in the capacity of interpreter, as able if needed.

Assists in creating prescription drafts when patients requested medication refills.

Maintains workstations per protocol. Performs routine quality checks of equipment and promptly reports damaged/missing equipment.

Checks website for appointment requests, create a patient chart and send EMR message to the scheduling coordinator for the patent to be scheduled accordingly.

Performs general clerical duties in support of patient services according to needs of the clinic and as directed by the clinic manager and provider. These include but are not limited to answering phones, photocopies, faxing, typing, completing forms etc.

The practice will train candidates willing to learn and grow with the practice.
