Description

Summary: This role is vital in ensuring the quality, compliance, and accuracy of the organization's real estate valuation program. This role will review commercial and consumer appraisals for USPAP, FIRREA, and internal policy compliance, while dynamically multitasking a high volume of orders. This role will act as a trusted internal expert, collaborating closely with loan officers, credit teams, and management to resolve valuation deficiencies, and mitigate lending risk, while dynamically multitasking a high volume of orders.

Availability: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm - Springfield, MO

Essential Job Functions
  • Perform reviewsof either commercial or consumer appraisals to verify compliance with both USPAP and FIRREA regulations as well as the bank's internal policy.
  • Validate the methodologyused in the appraisal review process to determine how the final value was reached. Propose solutions to identified appraisal deficiencies.
  • Manage the work queue in YouConnect, which includes reviewing the transaction information to understand the risk profile and determine the appropriate level of due diligence required to meet regulatory and policy standards.
  • Perform in-house evaluations and assist in construction inspections, as needed.
  • Perform validations on prior valuations when loan situations allow.
  • Respond to inquiries from bank staff involving appraisal policy and compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Work with loan officers and the credit team on valuation issues and concerns.
  • Work through the loan maturity report to assist credit/lending teams on future valuation orders.
  • Keeps up to date about national, industry specific and local commercial real estate market trends.
  • Assist the Director as needed in reviewing the qualifications and sample reports of appraisers seeking to be added to the corporate approved appraiser list and recommend deleting those not meeting policy standards.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in banking, accounting, or a related field
  • Two to three years of appraisal, lending, credit, or loan documentation required
