Job description

The Buckeye Ranch is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Community Medication Management team. The Medical Assistant will support the day-to-day schedule of prescribing practitioners, taking vitals and supporting entry in the medical record, administrative support for medical encounters, client engagement, care coordination, inter-departmental collaboration and professional engagement with internal and external customers.

Schedule: Full-time, Non-Exempt (Monday-Thursday; 9:00 am - 6:00 pm) Fully In Office

What you'll do: 

  • Documents in accordance with standards of practice and established policies and procedures of the Ranch and accrediting and regulatory standards. Consistently records client progress in relation to treatment goals. Demonstrates the ability to balance the inclusion of information with client rights to confidentiality at it pertains to the position held
  • Complete documentation timely and appropriately for reimbursement and for alternative funding for youth and family benefits in accordance with established standards.
  • Evaluate client and check vital signs.
  • Review laboratory and related psychiatric and medical health assessments as clinically indicated.
  • Responsible for collection of collateral information for E&M appointments to include collection of vital signs, AIMS testing, obtaining pertinent medical history, etc.
  • Facilitate as needed phone calls with families supporting ongoing assessment of medical needs pertinent to psychiatric care received at The Buckeye Ranch.
  • Support client scheduling needs for consultation with psychiatrist or nurse practitioner as needed pertinent to nursing assessment outcomes
  • Ensure compliance of treatment with Quality Assurance standards.

Who you are:

  • You have at least a high school diploma or GED.
  • You are a certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
  • You have one year of Medical Assistant experience.
  • You have an active driver license and insurance.
