A little about Reno-Sparks Indian Colony
The Reno-Sparks Indian Colony represents descendants of three Great Basin Indigenous peoples: the **Numu (Northern Paiute)**, **Newe (Western Shoshone)**, and **Washeshu (Washoe)**. These communities lived in harmony with the land for generations before European contact, following seasonal cycles and forming small, efficient social groups for survival. Your day to day as a Youth Mentor Program Assistant
As a Full-Time Youth Mentor Program Assistant at the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, you will play a vital role in the development and coordination of the Youth Mentor Program under the guidance of the Youth Mentor. Your responsibilities will include supporting daily operations, such as managing phone communications, data entry, and processing program paperwork. You'll assist with planning and implementing engaging activities for youth groups, attending meetings and events to foster a sense of community.
Additionally, you will be involved in research focused on youth outreach, prevention, and civic engagement, while also collaborating with other departments to enhance youth involvement. Your efforts will contribute to effective community outreach aimed at promoting, recruiting, and retaining youth in various programs.
