WHO YOU ARE
Prowess Consulting is looking for a strong editorial production manager with strong content editing skills to support our top-tier technology client's highest-profile work. In this role, you'll serve as a day-to-day editor for a news site and daily blog-shaping what is published, strengthening headlines and copy, and ensuring every post meets style standards. You will also build and update content (at times on a deadline) and coordinate reviews. This role is best suited to someone with sharp news judgment, strong editing skills, and the ability to work quickly and calmly under tight deadlines.
To be considered for this role, you must reside in one of the following states: Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Washington.
This is a full-time role that can be worked remotely, however, collaboration with teammates centered in the Pacific time zone will be essential. No third-party agencies, please.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITES
  • Serve as a content editor of our news site and daily blog, working with the managing editor and writing team to help decide which content to highlight on our homepages each day, maintaining high standards for all headlines, copy and visuals.
  • Plan blog content and work with stakeholders and writers to develop and execute, including coming up with ideas, creating content plans, editing, assisting with reviews/approvals and ensuring excellence in final product.
  • Edit and update content including blog posts, media resources and other items, refining writing structure, tone and clarity, complying with Associated Press (AP) style and company style guidelines.
  • Build and publish press releases, blog posts, press resources and various content quickly and accurately in our content management system, often on deadline.
  • Write short content including social copy, headlines, link text and captions.
  • Work with platform team as needed to troubleshoot and test new features, and write/update how-to guidance for publishing tasks.
  • Assist in occasional after-hours or weekend editing/publishing work as needed, depending on news.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong journalism with content editing skills and Associated Press (AP) Style are required
  • Solid news judgement and understanding of technology and the industry
  • Ability to engage constructively with a wide range of stakeholders to drive shared outcomes, including across global teams.
  • Available during core Pacific time hours, 9 AM - 6 PM, including late-day needs and occasional late-night or early-morning publishing
  • Able to work efficiently against tight deadlines
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Pluses: Content strategy and social media experience; familiarity working within a multi-site WordPress environment
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
  • The offered pay range for this position is $85,000 to 95,000 per year, depending on experience and geographic location.
