Overview

The Equestrian Property Manager is responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and operation of an equestrian facility, including barns, arenas, paddocks, turnout areas, equipment, and associated infrastructure. This role ensures the property runs efficiently, safely, and professionally while supporting the needs of horses, staff, and riders.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Management

  • Oversee daily operations of the equestrian property, including barns, arenas, turnout, and grounds
  • Ensure all structures, fencing, footing, drainage, and utilities are properly maintained
  • Manage repairs, renovations, and improvements as needed
  • Coordinate with contractors, farriers, veterinarians, and service providers
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards across the property

Pasture & Grounds Oversight

  • Supervise pasture rotation, mowing, and land maintenance
  • Monitor footing quality in arenas and riding areas
  • Ensure proper drainage and irrigation systems are functioning
  • Oversee manure management and waste removal systems

Barn & Equipment Management

  • Maintain barn equipment, tractors, gators, trucks, trailers, and tools
  • Schedule regular servicing and inspections of machinery
  • Track inventory of supplies (shavings, hay storage, bedding materials, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with safety and fire prevention protocols

Staff Coordination (if applicable)

  • Support barn management by ensuring operational needs are met
