Job description

About The Company

Casago Select Stays is a vacation rental company where great people create exceptional experiences. From our humble beginnings with a simple idea, we've grown into a trusted industry leader delivering genuine hospitality to every guest.

What sets us apart isn't just our technology or our property standards—it's our culture of doing things the right way, building trust, and supporting one another as a team. When you join Casago Select Stays, you're becoming part of a company that values your contributions, invests in your growth, and gives you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the homeowners and guests we serve every day.

About the Role

If you'd rather spend your day caring for beautiful vacation homes than sitting behind a desk, enjoy solving practical problems, and take pride in keeping things running smoothly, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

As our Property Caretaker, you'll become the trusted guardian of a portfolio of vacation rental homes throughout the Shaver Lake area. Every day brings something different - conducting inspections, preparing homes for arriving guests, handling light maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and helping create exceptional experiences for both homeowners and guests.

This is a highly independent, hands-on role where you'll have the autonomy to manage your daily priorities while working alongside a supportive operations team. Success comes from your attention to detail, dependability, and ability to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact the guest experience.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of an assigned portfolio of vacation rental homes, ensuring every property consistently meets Casago Select Stays' quality and presentation standards.

  • Conduct detailed property inspections before guest and homeowner arrivals, identifying maintenance needs, safety concerns, inventory shortages, and cleanliness issues before they become problems.

  • Perform a variety of light maintenance tasks, including replacing light bulbs, adjusting door hardware, unclogging toilets, troubleshooting WiFi and electronics, maintaining hot tubs, and completing other minor repairs.

  • Remove trash, recycling, debris, and other items as needed to ensure homes remain clean, safe, and guest-ready.

  • Respond professionally to guest and homeowner questions through phone, email, support tickets, or in person, resolving issues whenever possible and escalating more complex concerns appropriately.

  • Take initiative to identify opportunities for improvement, helping prevent maintenance issues before they affect homeowners or guests.

  • Assist housekeeping, maintenance, and operations teams during busy periods while providing cross-coverage for teammates when needed.

  • Support the onboarding of new vacation rental properties by assisting Business Development Representatives and the local operations team with inspections, setup, and quality readiness.

  • Maintain accurate inspection notes, communicate findings promptly, and ensure issues are documented and followed through to completion.

  • Represent Casago Select Stays professionally in every interaction with homeowners, guests, vendors, and fellow team members.

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned because every day in hospitality brings new opportunities to make a difference.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience in property care, maintenance, housekeeping, hospitality, construction, landscaping, or another hands-on role required.

  • Experience within vacation rentals, hotels, hospitality, facilities, or property management is strongly preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and a genuine pride in producing high-quality work.

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize changing responsibilities throughout the day.

  • Comfortable working independently while managing multiple properties and tasks.

  • Confident using smartphones, tablets, and mobile applications to complete inspections, document work, and communicate with the team.

  • Reliable personal transportation with the ability to travel throughout the assigned market.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills when interacting with homeowners, guests, vendors, and coworkers.

  • Dependable, proactive, and willing to roll up your sleeves wherever help is needed.

Workplace Environment + Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors at vacation homes, resorts, offices, laundry facilities, and other hospitality locations in varying weather conditions.

  • Hospitality is a seven-day-a-week business, so flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands is required.

  • Frequent travel between assigned properties throughout the market.

  • Reliable personal transportation is required.

  • Ability to climb, balance, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, reach, push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance while performing routine property inspections and maintenance activities.

Compensation, Benefits & ScheduleHourly Salary $23Benefits
  • Paid time off, including vacation and sick leave

  • Work independently while being supported by a collaborative local team

  • Every day brings new challenges and opportunities; no two days are exactly alike

  • Opportunities for growth within a respected and expanding vacation rental company
