Position Overview

From fabrication and modularization to new builds, turnaround and maintenance, Aecon Industrial leads the way in industrial construction and water infrastructure, providing clients in Canada and the U.S. with vertically integrated solutions and exceptional self-perform work. 

What You'll Do Here

  • Layout, fit, and weld fabricated steel components per blueprints and shop drawings
  • Use GMAW, MCAW and FCAW welding techniques on mild steel.
  • Operate overhead cranes, cutting torches, grinders, and other fabrication tools
  • Inspect work to ensure it meets company and customer quality standards
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines

What You Bring to the Team

  • 3+ years of experience in custom steel fabrication
  • Strong proficiency in reading blueprints and weld symbols
  • Skilled in GMAW, MCAW and FCAW welding
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of shop math and fabrication tolerances
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • AWS, CWB certification or equivalent is an asset

Preferred

  • Forklift and Overhead crane operation experience
  • Experience in a fabrication shop environment.
