Role Overview

We are partnering with a leading national General Contractor that is continuing to expand its Mission Critical division and is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join the team on a $200M+ hyperscale Data Center project in Secaucus, NJ.


This is an outstanding opportunity to develop your career on one of the region's flagship data center developments while working alongside experienced Project Managers and Superintendents on complex, fast-paced Mission Critical projects. The company has a strong pipeline of hyperscale data center work across the United States, offering excellent long-term career progression.


The ideal candidate will have experience supporting large commercial or Mission Critical construction projects and possess strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills. Candidates with backgrounds in Data Centers, healthcare, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, industrial, or other technically complex projects are encouraged to apply.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager with the day-to-day management of a $200M+ hyperscale Data Center project.
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and cost tracking.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and client representatives throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project documentation.
  • Monitor project schedules and help ensure key milestones are achieved on time.
  • Track project costs, commitments, and progress against budget.
  • Assist with contract administration and subcontractor management.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning activities, and project closeout documentation.
  • Work closely with field teams to resolve construction issues and maintain project quality.
  • Attend client, subcontractor, and internal project meetings while maintaining clear communication across all stakeholders.


Requirements

  • 2–5+ years of construction experience in an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or similar role.
  • Previous experience on Data Center, Mission Critical, commercial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or industrial construction projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, project controls, scheduling, and contract administration.
  • Experience managing RFIs, submittals, procurement, and project documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or similar) is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Willingness to travel or relocate for project assignments as required.
