Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Civil Engineer, Assistant Project Manager to join our growing Site Development team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is an opportunity for an experienced civil engineer to expand their project management, client interaction, and technical leadership experience while supporting a diverse mix of commercial, industrial, institutional, energy, and renewable energy projects.

Our Pittsburgh office serves as CEC's headquarters and is home to more than 440 professionals, including one of the firm's largest Civil/Site Engineering groups with more than 65 engineers and designers. In this role, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while contributing to projects ranging from solar farms and natural gas facilities to university expansions, industrial developments, and complex site infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with managing civil/site development projects from planning and design through permitting, bidding, and construction
  • Prepare site development plans, including site layouts, grading, erosion and sedimentation controls, stormwater management facilities, and utility designs
  • Develop permitting applications and support municipal zoning and land development approvals
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, municipalities, and regulatory agencies throughout project execution
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams, including geotechnical, environmental, ecological, and construction professionals
  • Support project scheduling, budgeting, and client communication activities
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to project team members
  • Participate in industry organizations, client meetings, and business development activities

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
