As a Senior Project Engineer, you'll immerse yourself in collaborative teamwork and leadership. Whether on-site supporting project teams or contributing in-house alongside our operations staff, you'll utilize Lydig's established techniques, systems, and processes. This role presents the opportunity to oversee multiple scopes, manage subcontractors, mentor entry-level staff, and take charge of unique and challenging projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads and manages submittal and RFI process for multiple scopes of work activities on site.
  • Leads the project closeout process to ensure timely completion of the project.
  • Understand different scopes of work and is able to assist Project Manager in generating both Subcontractor and Purchase Agreements.
  • Assist Project Manager in both Subcontractor and Owner change orders.
  • Engages at project meetings, and is expected to understand and communicate changes and updates on scopes of work and subcontracts.
  • Understands in depth schedule needs of project in conjunction with Project Manager and Field Operations staff then leads in the communication to subcontractors and suppliers as it relates to submittals and materials procurement.
  • Engages in estimating, preconstruction, and business development processes.
  • Understands BIM fundamentals and is able to effectively navigate the model to assist in constructability/coordination review
  • Provides mentorship and training support to junior members of the engineering staff.
  • Provides assistance in various areas as required.

Qualifications:

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management preferred or equivalent experience
  • 4-8 years of construction-management-related experience, depending on education

Safety

  • Participates in jobsite safety meetings, stretch-and-flex, and other safety-related activities.
  • Conducts regular project safety audits.
  • Leads and manages safety submittal process.

Skills / Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to establish and maintain rapport with owners, staff, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Must have a basic understanding of the construction industry and the role of a General Contractor
  • Strong ability to lead, influence and motivate people
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and issues
  • Knowledge of Construction Management software is preferred, also must be proficient with computer programs such as scheduling (P6 preferred), estimating, Excel, MS Word, etc.

Other Requirements:

  • Current driver's license and an acceptable driving record as defined by Lydig's insurance company and vehicle policy, if applicable for auto allowance
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment checks including a Drug Screen, Criminal Background and possibly Credit check.
  • Employment eligibility is the sole responsibility of the applicant.

The salary range for this position is between $90,0000 and $110,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
