The Project Engineer will gain hands-on experience with wastewater equipment and processes while supporting our customers and contributing to the development of innovative, engineered solutions tailored to their specific needs.


Expectations for the Project Engineer:

  • Demonstrate a high level of technical curiosity and a willingness to learn about our processes, equipment options, and client requirements
  • Assist Project Managers in exceeding client expectations by developing technical options
  • Utilize Probst's configuration model and design templates, including tools such as treatment unit sizing, pipe sizing, motor lists, etc.
  • Review process data and prepare process design calculationsย 
  • Gather and analyze client data for use in design development
  • Assist in analyzing existing treatment processes and wastewater characteristics to determine current loadings on wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs).
  • Evaluate, select, and apply various wastewater treatment technologies, equipment, and processes to optimize performance and develop designs
  • Support bid requests by evaluating quotations for equipment and contractors
  • Collaborate with designers to develop site layouts, process flow diagrams, and process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Perform and review design calculations, and write engineering reports,ย 
  • Review operation and maintenance manuals for industrial wastewater treatment systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Work out of the Hartland, WI office
  • Completion of an Engineering bachelor's degree from an accredited university, preferably in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering
  • Work in a state-of-the-art collaborative environment located in Hartland, WI
  • Visit client sites to develop an understanding of process and equipment requirements. ย Travel up to 20% may be required, depending on project demands
  • Strong, concise written communication, primarily for reports, directions, or proposals
  • Coursework or experience in Industrial Wastewater Management is a plus
