Job description

Position Summary

Suburban Drywall is seeking a Project Engineer for our Lake Mills location. The Project Engineer coordinates, plans, organizes, and oversees all aspects of project schedules, job documents, and correspondence in accordance with company policy, contract documents & safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with the administration and coordination of construction projects.
  • Maintain project files, documentation, and correspondence.
  • Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and other project documents.
  • Support communication between project teams, field staff, general contractors, vendors, and customers.
  • Attend project meetings and distribute meeting notes and action items.
  • Update project schedules and assist with tracking deadlines.
  • Communicate with field supervisors regarding project updates, material needs, and jobsite information.
  • Assist with material orders and vendor coordination.
  • Support project cost tracking, billing, and documentation processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities and communications.
  • Assist with punch lists, closeout documents, and project completion activities.
  • Utilize company software and equipment in accordance with company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of drywall systems, construction methods, and building materials preferred.
  • Basic understanding of construction processes and project documentation, or willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, Building Construction, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Valid driver's license.
