What You’ll Do

The Assistant Project Manager assists with responsibilities including, but not solely limited to construction, remodeling, and miscellaneous CapEx projects for all projects assigned to their Project manager. The Assistant Project will focus on Submittals, RFI’s, Pay Request review and processing, and communications with subcontractors on the job site.

  • Assisting the Project Manager in all facets of the construction project from planning to closeout with industry best practices.
  • Communication with the design team of engineers/architects to answer RFI’s for bidding, permitting, and construction.
  • Assist in the tracking of project budgets, manage invitations to bid, and review proposals for a complete scope of work.
  • Assisting in the administration of subcontract agreements and ensuring timely payments are made.
  • Assist in the tracking of project schedules.
  • Grow and learn in the areas of constructability and value engineering techniques to provide the best value for projects.
  • Monitor, control, and track all the change management processes on managed projects.
  • Keep the Project Manager informed on all significant updates of the project, schedule progress, financial status, and
    relationships.
  • May be required to cross-train and perform other duties.

Essential Qualities for Success
  • 1+ years of broad commercial construction management experience with 1+ years of retail construction experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of construction, including reading plans, and preferably experience with Project Mates or Procore
  • Analytical skills include planning, organizing, directing, and controlling workflow and processes.
  • Ability to interact with the team in a fast-paced environment, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, supervision of construction superintendents and construction companies.
  • Strong work ethic, highly organized, results-driven, with great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have a constant improvement mindset and expect a high level of excellence.
  • Flexibility with hours: the ability to work varied hours, days, nights, and weekends as business needs dictate.
  • Moderate level of computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office Suite, PM Software, and Scheduling software

Physical Requirements 

  • Good visual acuity and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull a minimum of 30 pounds
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to travel to project sites throughout multiple states.

The pay range for this position is $54,000 - $66,000 annualized. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as relevant geographic location, education, certifications, experience, job level, shift, and organizational needs.
