Atco Construction is a dedicated construction company for Atesian Properties, a family-owned commercial real estate firm that primarily operates in the Birmingham and Royal Oak area. Atco Construction was founded by the owners of Atesian Properties to act as the construction portion of the commercial property management company. The main focus of Atco Construction is performing construction work needed for the repurposing, development, leasing, and management of multi-tenant commercial office, retail, and industrial properties
The Opportunity: Construction Project Manager
We are looking for an experienced, self-driven construction project manager to join our team. You will take on all aspects of our commercial construction and repurpose projects. You will be involved and be expected to perform the entire lifecycle, from initial scope and permitting through final delivery and closeout. You will work directly with company leadership and be expected to direct your own team of workers. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership qualities, communication skills, and a deep understanding of engineering and construction methodologies. This role will require intense attention to detail, committing to deliver projects on time and within budget, while holding the highest quality of standards. Limited weekend work is required.
What you will do
  • Manage the full project lifecycle preconstruction, permitting, procurement, construction, and closeout
  • Manage all project documentation
  • Review/approve contractor payments
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, vendors, and material suppliers
  • Align design and construction timelines with lease dates
  • Communicate project status and decision to leadership
Who you are
  • 4+ years of Construction/Engineering experience required.
  • Extensive experience leading commercial construction projects in excess of $1M.
  • B.S. in Construction, Engineering, or other related field preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of site construction
  • Engineering/construction certifications preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to multi-task multiple projects
  • Self-starter, eager to own their own work and be part of a growing team
  • Willing to work two or more weekends a month, if necessary.
