Job description

The Team Leads assist the Manager-on-Duty and Store Manager in leading sales activities for Cannabis Guides on the Sales Floor. Team Leads motivate Cannabis Guides to deliver Outstanding Customer Experiences through compliance to Company Policies and Procedures and modeling best-selling practices on the Sales Floor. Team Leads embrace the Company's Mission, Purpose, Values, and Key Performance Indicator Targets as an example of how to excel in their role. Becoming a Team Lead is the first step into Store Leadership and demonstrates commitment for future growth and development.
Reports To
Team Leads report to the Manager-on-Duty daily during their shift and to the Store Manager for personal development.
Attitude and Leadership
Team Leads lead by setting a good example, their behavior is consistent with the standards set in the Team Member Handbook and company training courses. Team Leads listen, motivate, and inspire Team Members by providing guidance to Cannabis Guides based on objectives set by the Store Manager.
Team Leads assist the Store Manager and the Manager-On-Duty by performing assigned tasks on a daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis. Team Leads support Store Management with Team Member Development by providing real-time feedback to Cannabis Guides. They are also responsible for communicating with, and escalating issues when they occur.
Team Leads must bring energy, enthusiasm, support, and out-of-the-box thinking to this role to influence Team Member morale and maintain Store Culture.

Team Leads assist the Manager-On-Duty and the Store Manager during each shift by ensuring daily operations and performance metrics are met through these essential principles: Sales Floor Presence, Store Operations, Communication, and Organization.
Sales Floor Presence
  • Team Leads maintain awareness of the Sales Floor to anticipate Customer and Store needs; they are the first point of contact for Cannabis Guide questions and support at the Point of Sale (POS) System.
  • Team Leads help Team Members be PartyReady throughout their shifts and able to properly present sales/special offers to Customers.
  • The primary role of the Team Lead is to support Cannabis Guides with continued learning and education on the Company's Mission, Purpose, Values, and Key Performance Indicator Targets.

Store Operations
  • Team Leads assist with In-Store product handling and help the Manager-On-Duty confirm that Orders/Deliveries are accurate.
  • Team Leads communicating issues with inventory labeling to the Product Team for the Store.
  • Team Leads assist the Store Manager and Manager-On-Duty with inventory audits as needed.

Communication and Organization
  • Team Leads are the first level of response for routine Customer concerns and involve Store Management as appropriate.
  • Team Leads proactively resolve issues with Case Display, Product Tagging, Cleanliness, and Store Organization.
  • Team Leads help delegate tasks to Cannabis Guides in slow traffic times according to what the Manager-On-Duty has planned.
  • Team Leads work directly with the Manager-on-Duty to communicate, redirect, and solve concerns as they occur on the Sales Floor.

Knowledge
Team Leads must be knowledgeable of all Company Policies, Processes, Procedures, Sales Techniques, Store Sales Objectives, Key Performance Indicator Target. Team Leads must be proficient in using Company Technology Systems to correctly sell Cannabis and non-Cannabis products. Team Lead must also have a well-rounded understanding of the Cannabis Industry to support Team Members in the delivery of an Outstanding Customer Experience. Team Leads must comply with State Regulations, Directives, Policies, and Safety Procedures.
Team Leads must be committed to their own personal growth and development and invest additional time learning how to build their leadership skills. An internal learning system is provided for continued education and enrichment. Team Leads will be responsible for completing all courses in a timely manner.
Experience and Required Skills
  • Experience working in a team-oriented role for 2-3 years
  • Must be self-motivated, showing initiative and resourcefulness for individual projects.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced, competitive, start-up working environment.
  • Exhibit strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude with a willingness to expend extra effort to learn new and diverse information.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Must be 21+ and possess a valid driver's license or state ID.
  • Must be able to work variable hours per week including morning, night, afternoon shifts, and weekends. All locations are open 365 days per year. Hours of operation depending on the day of the week.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, computer systems (i.e. Google Workspace).
  • Physical demands: This position involves constant moving, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, and lifting a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity needed for computer usage and keyboarding skills.
  • Able to speak clearly to provide direction and motivate Team Members.
  • Ability to drive to various locations.
  • Team Members will be required to obtain all State-required Training and Identification Cards prior to employment.
