Who We Are

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology is an inclusive community whose passion for discovery, service, leadership and sharing of knowledge addresses global microbiology and immunology challenges.
Current areas of focus in the department include microbial pathogenesis with expertise in bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic pathogens and microbiome influences on health and disease. There is also strong expertise in both innate and adaptive immunity. The department is home to two T32 training grants and has a strong teaching focus that spans graduate (PhD, MS, medical and dental students) and undergraduate instruction.
