Visiting Assistant Professor in Spanish
The World Languages Department at Covenant College, an agency of the Presbyterian Church in America and an academically rigorous Christian college emphasizing the liberal arts in the Reformed and Presbyterian tradition, invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Spanish position beginning January 1, 2026. This is a one-year position with the possibility of a one-year renewal.
The candidate who fills this position will be expected to teach a wide range of courses at the undergraduate level in support of the Spanish major and program, and the general education requirement for language.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Teach four classes a semester of elementary, intermediate, and upper-level Spanish courses.
  • Post syllabi and grades in a timely manner.
  • Plan lessons and assignments, grade assignments, respond to student inquiries, and submit final grades.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Commitment to the mission of Covenant College
  • Master's degree in Spanish

Preferred:
  • A doctoral degree in Spanish from a regionally accredited institution
  • Teaching experience and interest in connecting his or her teaching to the community of Spanish speakers in the Chattanooga area
