As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. The Division of Cancer Biology has a distinguished history of discovery within a dynamic and highly collaborative academic environment. Research in the division focuses on fundamental mechanisms of tumor biology with strengths in cell signaling, metabolism, gene regulation and the tumor microenvironment. Appointees are expected to establish and maintain an innovative, externally funded research program that complements and extends the division's existing areas of excellence while contributing to its interdisciplinary mission. Successful candidates will receive competitive start-up support, dedicated laboratory space, and access to outstanding shared resources to enable rapid program growth.
Two full-time open rank tenure-track faculty positions are available in the Division of Cancer Biology (https://med.uc.edu/cancerbiology) at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. The division is expanding and seeking applications from emerging or established leaders in cancer research. The rank of the appointments (Asst/Assoc/Professor) is open and will be commensurate with the professional accomplishments of the selected applicant. The candidate(s) will join a robust research-focused division comprised of well-funded and highly collaborative faculty. Faculty laboratories are housed in the architecturally renowned Vontz Center for Molecular Studies, an interdisciplinary research hub that brings together investigators from Cancer Biology, Radiation Oncology, and the Division of Hematology/Oncology, as well as the Cancer and Cell Biology Graduate Program (https://med.uc.edu/education/cancer-biology-graduate/about-doctoral)
- Lead a research group in mechanistic investigation of fundamental questions in cancer biology and/or application of innovative technologies to produce new cancer biology discoveries.
- Other faculty responsibilities as assigned.
- Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent degree.
- Three years of postdoctoral experience.
- Track record demonstrating impactful publications in cancer-relevant research.
- Track record of grant funding, as appropriate for career stage.
